We are committed to providing quality eye care to you and your family.
Spectacles F.Y. Eye wants to be your eye care provider of choice – which is why you can expect to receive the same level of service, the same attention to detail, and the same commitment to meeting your expectations every time you visit. Whether you’re seeing us for the first-time or are a returning patient, we want to make your visit as comfortable, thorough, and exceptional as possible.
Please be sure to bring your insurance information along with you. If you are visiting us for the first time, we will ask you to complete a health history; therefore, it may be helpful for you to bring along a current list of medications (including vitamins and supplements). If you currently wear contact lenses or prescription eyeglasses, please be sure to wear them/bring them along to your appointment as well.
Even if you can see clearly, having an eye exam is one of the best ways to protect your vision because it enables your eye doctor to test for and detect eye problems at their earliest stage — when they’re most treatable. Regular eye exams give your eye care professional a chance to diagnose and treat eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, retinal detachments, etc., as well as help you correct or adapt to vision changes.
When you visit Spectacles F.Y. Eye, Dr. Haloua conducts an array of tests to make sure your vision is as clear and healthy as possible. There are no technicians standing between you and the doctor!
Routine Eye Examination:
Dr. Haloua will begin your exam by asking about your medical history and any vision problems you might be experiencing. Next, she will make a quick check of your eyes using a light to ensure that the exterior parts of your eyes are functioning correctly. Dr. Haloua will conduct a series of tests designed to evaluate your eye control movement and eye diseases.
Basic Vision Examination:
Dr. Haloua will then conduct a visual acuity test (determine how well you can see from a distance) and refraction assessment (determine if you need corrective lenses), test your binocular vision (how the eyes work together) and other tests to assess your eye pressure, how your eyes react to light, your peripheral vision, and your overall eye health.
At some point during this part of the examination, Dr. Haloua may ask if it is okay to administer eye drops to dilate your pupils. It will take about two hours for the drops to wear off completely, during which time you may experience some sensitivity to bright light and have some difficulty reading. Most patients feel comfortable driving within 30 minutes of having their pupils dilated; if you do not or are unsure if you will feel comfortable, please consider bringing someone with you to the appointment so that they can drive you home.
Comprehensive Vision Examination (Contact Lens Fitting):
Interested in making the transition to contact lenses? Dr. Haloua will conduct a comprehensive examination to make sure your lenses not only correct your vision, but fit your eyes and your lifestyle comfortably as well. We’ll also schedule a free follow-up appointment to see how well your eyes and your vision are adjusting to your new contact lenses.
Should we find something during your visit that requires treatment beyond the scope of services we provide, Spectacles F.Y. Eye will be happy to recommend and refer you to any one of several local ophthalmologists who is qualified to address your needs.
Yes, prescription eyeglasses will help you see more clearly. But they are also an extension of your personality and help define who you are. The right eyeglasses should help you see and be seen!
What do you do for a living? What do you do in your free time? How will you use your glasses? These are just a few of the questions that our licensed optician will ask so he can get to know you and pick the frames that compliment your lifestyle.
Once your frames are ready, we’ll call to let you know. While we can certainly make arrangements to send them to you, we’d prefer that you stop by the office so we can make sure that you can see clearly and that your new glasses fit properly. After that, feel free to stop by whenever you feel your glasses need to be adjusted – we want your frames to be as comfortable and beneficial as possible.
